I think a lot of people overlook the benefits of expanding their networks, especially if they are looking for a career in philanthropy. In the smaller and less professional foundation, be the Chairman's son's best friend. For the bigger organizations, have a relationship with the leadership.<BR/><BR/>This is not as cynical as it might first appear... get to know lots of people, engage with them, show them your talents.
