This opportunity arises as our current Co-Chair, Amanda Miller OAM, will be retiring at the AGM in May next year, when she will have reached the end of her term on the board.
As the peak body for philanthropy in Australia, we champion more and better giving to create a generous and inclusive Australia.
We are inviting expressions of interest from experienced leaders/members, who have a deep understanding of the philanthropic sector, strong governance credentials, proven leadership ability, and a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
About the Role:
- Board Chair or Co-Chair (TBC)
- Voluntary position with a national remit (capital city location preferred)
- Three-year initial term
- Lead strategic direction and governance of Philanthropy Australia
- Represent the organisation across the sector
- Collaborate closely with the CEO and Board to drive impact
What We’re Looking For:
- Significant board experience, ideally as Chair or Deputy Chair
- Proven leadership and profile in philanthropy – as a practitioner, adviser or advocate
- Strong networks across foundations, corporate giving and social investment
- Commitment to inclusive leadership and cultural sensitivity
- Availability of 15-20 hours per month
